Both DBCC Centers are located in an urban setting.
University Center is on the campus of the University of Maryland,
Baltimore and serves children from 4 months through 5 years old. The
Park Avenue Center is located in the Mount Vernon Cultural District and
serves children from 18 months through Kindergarten.
DBCC is more than a child care center. It has become:
A state approved training organization, offering workshops for DBCC staff and early childhood
teachers at educational conferences locally and nationally.
An advocate for policies that ensure high quality early childhood
services that nurture, protect, and educate young children in all day
group settings and promote higher wages for child care staff.
The originator of a newsletter with unique articles written by DBCC
staff emphasizing child centered curriculum.
